William Santus & Co Ltd – Uncle Joe’s Mint Balls

The customer’s business

William Santus & Co Ltd has been making mints and traditional sweets by hand since 1898. Based in Wigan, Lancashire, the company is the manufacturer of Uncle Joe’s Mint Balls.

The ownership and management of the business has been passed down through the same family for generations. It is currently owned and managed by the Winnard family, William’s great and great, great nephews.


LEANNE MANN JOINS YAMATO TO STRENGTHEN COMMERCIAL OPERATIONS

Leanne Mann has joined automatic weighing machine manufacturer Yamato Dataweigh as commercial operations coordinator to assist the technical support and operations teams with customer quotes and delivery.

Commenting on her role she said: “I will be assisting the technical support team to demonstrate that Yamato has a responsive service and can specify and quote for customers’ requirements, accurately and quickly. I will also be helping to implement new production principles at our new Leeds premises as we strive for class-leading delivery and efficiency.”


JANE INGHAM JOINS YAMATO TO STRENGTHEN CUSTOMER CARE

Following its recent move to new premises in Leeds, weighing equipment manufacturer Yamato has strengthened its customer support team with a key new appointment.

Jane Ingham has joined Yamato Dataweigh as customer service support manager. Her role will have an emphasis on maintaining and nurturing first class customer relationships.

Yamato Scale Dataweigh UK, a leading manufacturer of quality industrial weighing machines, has delivered a bespoke weighing solution for Cornwall’s premiere fresh produce grower Riviera Produce.

Yamato supplied and installed an Omega ADW-O-1214S Multihead Weigher with a 12-litre capacity and 14 heads. The machine was specifically designed to work with salad crops and fresh produce.

Yamato Scale Dataweigh UK, a leading manufacturer of quality industrial weighing machines, is moving from its existing premises to a new factory in Leeds.

From 18 November Yamato will be based in new premises at Millennium Way, Leeds.

Yamato commercial operations manager Andrea Spencer said: “We are looking forward to the move. The new premises will enable us to deliver improved service to our customers through enhanced manufacturing capabilities. We will also be able to increase our service provision with the ability to keep more genuine spares in stock.”

Yamato Scale Dataweigh is demonstrating its innovative new fruit weighing and punnet/tray filling line at an open house event at its new premises in Leeds.

The line is based on Yamato’s new Alpha Advance multihead weigher combined with an innovative punnet filling depositor. Visitors to Yamato can see the line in operation and the sales and technical team will be on hand to answer any questions.
